Commission for 
This lovely lady asked for a scene from my story The Princess of Prongs, and I was only too happy to oblige.
Here we see Ida (the girl transformed) being led away in the protection of Saxum and Cacia's herd. As they breach the crest of the ridge-line Ida looks back, taking in for the last time the sweeping basin of Man's Valley. She must say goodbye to her home if she hopes to survive. But leaving behind all she's known is harder than she could have ever imagined.
This commission was not only a delightful excuse to draw my characters together, but it allowed me to finally work on my deer anatomy. I'm very pleased with the results, both in the posing of their beautiful, yet very difficult to draw bodies, and in the 'disney-ish' likeness of their expressions.
The lighting too was a task in itself as I tried my best to unite the drawing as best I could.
I really hope you like it!

I’m just amazed, it’s thrilling to see pieces of this story come to life in the visual arts. ❤️ Ida makes a very beautiful deer! I still wonder what will become of her.
