Commission: The Cause

Here's the little story I imagined with it:

In the midst of the bloody battle a cry rang out that challenged all the rest; not in strength or in fear but in sorrow. Her's was a cry of innocence, thrust into the frey with no means of defense or understanding. What had she done to find herself here in this gorge of certain death? But death was the one who answered her call, and when he bellowed from the depths of hell and once again took to the sky, tasting the winds of freedom fresh upon his wings, the world beneath him trembled in the reckoning of what the innocent one had summoned.
Armies of man melted under the shadow of the fire drake, and even she who had so unknowingly called him to her, was weakened in his presence. But he had come for only one, he fought for only her, and once she was safe upon his back he damned the rest of the retched scourge and left as suddenly as he come.
In the sanctuary of silence, everything passed away. There was no thought of war or greed or pain. And without these shadows to surround them she was able to look upon him and see beyond the fear of man. He was her savior, and she promised herself to him in everlasting gratitude.
